Publication Ethic
IJPI: International Journal of Islamic Education is committed to maintaining academic integrity and scientific publication ethics in every article publishing process. These guidelines refer to the principles of international publication ethics as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process editor, reviewer, and author are required to adhere to these ethical standards to ensure the quality, credibility, and trustworthiness of scientific publications.
1. Ethics for Editors
The editor is responsible for determining which articles are worthy of publication based on their scientific quality and relevance to the journal's focus. The editor must:
a. Be objective, fair, and non-discriminatory towards authors.
b. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and the author's identity.
c. Avoiding conflicts of interest in the editorial process.
d. Make decisions based on review results and academic considerations.
and. Handle suspected ethical violations (plagiarism, duplication, data manipulation) seriously.
2. Ethics for Reviewers
Reviewers play a crucial role in improving the quality of articles through scientific evaluation. Reviewers must:
a. Conduct assessments objectively and constructively.
b. Maintain the confidentiality of reviewed manuscripts.
c. Provide clear, argumentative, and academically based input.
d. Avoid conflicts of interest with authors or related institutions.
and. Complete the review process on time.
f. Report to the editor if there are indications of plagiarism or ethical violations.
3. Ethics for Writers
Authors have primary responsibility for the originality and quality of their scientific work. Authors must:
a. Guarantee that the manuscript is original work and free from plagiarism.
b. Do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
c. Presenting data honestly without manipulation or fabrication.
d. Cite all reference sources appropriately.
and. Include all parties who contributed as authors (fair authorship).
f. Disclose conflicts of interest (if any).
g. Willing to make revisions according to reviewer and editor input.
4. Plagiarism and Originality
All manuscripts submitted to IJPI will be checked using plagiarism detection tools. This journal only accepts manuscripts with an acceptable level of similarity (maximum ±20%, excluding bibliography and direct quotations). Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is not tolerated and will result in rejection of the manuscript or withdrawal of the published article.
5. Conflict of Interest
All parties (editors, reviewers, and authors) must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that might affect objectivity in the publication process. Conflicts of interest can involve financial, professional, or personal relationships.
6. Withdrawal and Correction of Articles
IJPI has a policy to:
a. Article retractionif serious violations such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or fatal errors are found.
b. Correction (corrigendum/erratum)if there are minor errors that do not change the main substance of the article.
c. Clarification statementif necessary to maintain transparency of publication.
7. Copyright and License
Authors agree that published articles will comply with the journal's copyright policy. The journal encourages the use of open access licenses to expand the dissemination of knowledge, while recognizing the moral rights of authors.
8. Open Access and Scientific Dissemination
IJPI supports the principleopen access, which allows articles to be freely accessible to the public at no cost. This aims to enhance the dissemination of knowledge, particularly in the field of Islamic education, globally.
